Dentures are a reliable and common solution for those who have lost their teeth, offering a way to restore both function and confidence. Despite their popularity, there are still many myths and misconceptions surrounding dentures that often prevent people from considering them.
In our previous blog, we discussed the symptoms that indicate it is now time to get dentures. In this blog, we will debunk the top myths about dentures, clearing up the confusion and providing you with the facts to help make the best decision for your dental health.
A widespread belief is that dentures are uncomfortable and difficult to wear. Modern dentures are built for comfort and function, and though an adjustment period is normal, a proper fit ensures they feel secure and natural in your mouth. Consistent visits to your dentist in Sacramento help maintain a comfortable and secure fit. Over time, most patients find that their dentures feel just like their natural teeth.
Many people think dentures look fake or unnatural. Thanks to advances in materials and dental technology, they mimic the color, translucency, and shape of real teeth, providing a natural, confident smile. Dentists can customize your dentures to match your unique facial features, enhancing both appearance and comfort.
Another fable is that dentures are most helpful for older adults. In reality, dentures are an excellent option for anyone who has lost teeth, regardless of age. Whether due to injury, illness, or decay, dentures restore both the appearance and function of your smile. People of all ages benefit from dentures, and they can help improve self-esteem and quality of life.
Some believe that dentures will last forever once made. However, dentures can wear down and may need to be relined or replaced. Changes in your mouth, such as bone loss or gum changes, affect the fit. Routine visits to a dental office in Sacramento help maintain the optimal condition of your dentures. With proper care and adjustments, dentures can last many years, but eventually, they may require maintenance to keep them functioning well.
Many people worry that dentures will prevent them from enjoying their favorite foods. With time, practice, and proper care, most people can eat comfortably with dentures. Chewing on both sides of your mouth and avoiding overly hard or sticky foods is recommended. As you get used to your dentures, you'll be able to enjoy a wide variety of foods without restrictions.
There are many myths surrounding dentures, but the truth is they are a reliable, natural-looking solution for restoring your smile and oral function. Dentures in Sacramento can significantly improve your quality of life when provided with expert care and attention.

Patient Testimonials
Beautiful office, friendly staff, terrific dental care.

Had a great visit today and got to know the people that work there. They made me feel comfortable as the change of ownership is taking place.

I am so impressed with the entire experience. From the friendly reminders, to entering the office, and especially the dentist! My previous dentist Stephen C Ott, DDS, was incredible. I had the benefits of his gift since 1971. I was worried about finding a new dentist. However, I was blessed to have Dr. Ott recommend his dentist: Dr. Lillian Stojic. I recommend her to all!!!

I've been seeing dr stojic since I moved to town 18 years ago, my whole family has transitioned over there and I love the whole team! Keep up the great work!

Dr. Lilliana and her staff make getting teeth cleaned and a cavity filled as good an experience as possible. They get the job done with minimal pain and discomfort.

I just had a visit to Dr. Stojic's office. My ten year old daughter had an infected tooth that had to be extracted. She was so nervous and scared at the possibility of an extraction. When we arrived we were greeted warmly by her office manager and then by her equally kind assistant who brought us back to her room...

Dr. Lilliana and her staff are not only effective and efficient, but they also remove my anxiety. When I had to have a root canal, I was nervous about the pain. I was given the choice of Nitrous oxide gas and that calmed me.

Dr. Stojic saw two of my children. The youngest was so comforted by her easygoing and confident demeanor that he was the quietest and most still 4 year old I've seen in a dentist chair! Our older son was very afraid of the dentist and has been to a couple other dentists who were unable to treat him because of his scared behavior. Dr. Stojic was very patient and helped him understand what she was doing at every step, which calmed him down so she was able to fill his cavities and even extract a tooth. We were thoroughly impressed with Dr. Stojic and her office and staff.
